Smokey the Bear says, Only a fool would have this kind of mishap

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust
when cleaning out a fireplace a brain is a must.
The cold weather came we had no gas
probably should have taken a fire safety class.
It seemed all too easy, how hard could it be
you just open the doors and throw in a tree.
If it still doesn’t start, you can throw on some fluid
and pray you don’t burn down the house, God forbid.
If it still doesn’t work, throw in a cardboard box
it’s rather quite easy if your head is not full of rocks.
Oh look now it’s burning can you feel it burn
now there’s nothing to fear no great concern.
After awhile it fills up with ash
so you scoop it all out and throw it in the trash.
But, no we don’t do anything simple round here
we have a wet/dry vac so there’s nothing to fear.
I sit there in awe at my hubby’s hard work
but, what happened next had me calling him a damn jerk.
He takes out the hose because there was something inside
when he turned it back on I just about died.
He had the damn hose in the hole marked with blow
and the house was now covered with a dirty first snow.
Now there I sat covered with ash and in tears
we opened the door til the smoky cloud in the room clears.
Now, people I tell you I wish I was a liar
but, please be careful with dry vacs and of course making a fire.

Stand upright, speak thy thoughts, declare The truth thou hast, that all may share; Be bold, proclaim it everywhere: They only live who dare. -Voltaire
